What flowers can I have at a winter wedding?

wedding flowers
mecrame asked:

My FI and I are pushing our wedding back from a year and a half away to two years away (for financial reasons).

The problem with this is that we’ll now have a January of February wedding (at the beginning of 2011).
We’re from the Chicago area so both months are verrrry cold! I know that buying in season flowers save money, but what flowers could we get in the winter time?

In the beginning, we were going to have a brown and blue May wedding with blue hydrangeas, but I am open to changing our color scheme.

I think winter weddings are gorgeous with creamy beige and wine burgundy roses, deep sage colors and anything that sparkles or glows.

    Hi,

I’m getting married in November this year - planning to have magenta coloured flowers maybe peonies and roses along with red berries (maybe hypericum berries) and Scottish Blue thistles. Our wedding colour theme is ivory, midnight blue, black with touches of magenta.

    Good luck!
