is it safe to use dyed flowers for a wedding?
danielle asked:
i would like to use blue dyed dendrobium orchids in my wedding bouquet, but i’m worried the dye will rub off and ruin my dress. i’ve never used dyed flowers before, so i was wondering if anyone knows more about the subject– do they always rub off or just when they’re wet? do they stain?
what would you recommend doing?

The dye is usually added to the water the flowers are in. They suck it up by natural processes into the petals themselves. They shouldn’t be anymore prone to colour issues than a natural bloom. Ask the florist supplying them if you have doubts. They are used to being asked such questions and as the customer you have a right to enquire - especially as you don’t want your dress ruined.
